At Sea Manuscript 1878 unique Black composition and cloth No d/j Signed by Good, shows indications it is a working Good, shows indications it is a working log, piece of spine missing; This log contains the journal of trips between New York and Venezuela starting in 1978 with the story of the Brig Harriet G. Going aground and being salvaged with the actual agreement written in in the hand of ship's master on the pages of the log and signed by the ship's master, W. H. Avery. This log is a unique piece of American maritime history during the period of the sailing vessels. This ship took cargo from place to place and the log details of cargo loadings and unloading of amounts, ships's acounts, and official stamps An unusual anomaly is the evidence that pages were removed and replaced by others written in the same hand as that of the ship's master. (The Harriet G. Was actually launched in the year of this log as a 252 Brig by W. A. Brad in Norfolk, Virginia, and spent much of its time going around the horm. In 1917 it capsized off Cape Flattery in Puget Sound, and was later refloated as the Esther.) ; approx. 170 pp. pages Price:
